The aerogel can achieve "shape memory"

The chemists have developed the aerogel that can memorize the shapes.

Chemists from the University of Missouri recently have produced out rubber-like aerogel with elasticity.

It is reported that the aerogel can achieve "shape memory".

The industry expert pointed out that the aerogel is to use the gas in silicon dioxide, metal oxide, or polymer gel instead of liquid solvents, which can be used in various products, including submarine oil pipeline insulation materials, various types of insulation materials usage in the space missions.

In addition, this particular type of polyurethane aerogel has a strong elasticity, can be bent in any direction or be crushed, and then still restored to the original shape.

It is reported that the aerogel can always maintain the deformed shape after the deformation and cooling process, and when the temperature rises to room temperature, they will return to the original undeformed shape.
